Wallflower Perks…

“If I ever have kids, and they are upset, I won’t tell them that are people starving in China or anything like that because it wouldn’t change the fact that they are upset. And even if somebody else has it much worse, that doesn’t change the fact that you have what you have.” –Stephen Chobsky, The Perks of Being a Wallflower

Did you ever read this book?! When I was a teenager I used to absolutely adore it. I’ve read it probably…about fifteen times. (Ok, so maybe I’m over-exaggerating a little.) But I really did read it a bunch!

I’ve always loved this quote- it always made me feel so much better when I was upset about things. Because…seriously- who wants to hear that someone has it much worse – when you’re a kid. We all know that – but when you’re a teenager, it’s hard to suck that in.

What do you do with your precious children when they are upset and having a rotten day? When their heart gets broken for the first time? When they get a lousy score on a test they studied for a week straight for?

We want to know how you deal with it!!
